forever green

I had the most excellent meal at Master’s Dinner last night: shrimp scampi, mashed potatoes, and some breadsticks. A rare treat amongst the not-so-lovely food of EVK. I’m off to get Chick-fil-A for breakfast with some friends, and it makes me miss home more every time. The workers there are just as nice as the ones back home, and they wear USC Game Day shirts for the football games, too! Everyone around here is USC-ed out. For example, there’s a Trojan Roll at the nearby sushi place! It’s crazy. Though I do love it here, I miss the red, gold, and yellow of the East. What’s the point of fall weather without crunchy leaves? Sigh. I haven’t had any foodventures besides my Chick-fil-A runs, unless you count my mounting obsession with Yogurtland! Froyo…we need it in Georgia, stat. Favorite flavors? Taro and pistachio with a sprinkling of Cap’n Crunch ๐Ÿ™‚ Oh, and boba is my other snack of choice. Mmm.

Also, President Obama is coming to USC tomorrow!!! I’m so excited to see him, even if he’s just here to convince us to vote for Barbara Boxer. I miss my sisters, and I cannot wait for our Thanksgiving feast ๐Ÿ™‚

Foods of Vermont

Dear Sisters,

I will post pictures when I get the chance! Dinner in vermont has been pretty good; noodles, pasta, and seafood..there is always fresh bread and cheese ๐Ÿ™‚ Maple syrup appears to be in mass quantities here, so I always add it to oatmeal in the morning. Delicious! The other day, I went to a bakery/diner in the nearby town Jeffersonville, where they had a giant bread oven (almost the size of two or three cloests…probably bigger!) and I watched one of the bakers kneading dough and putting it in little bread pans! Amazing, right? Local food and produce is always around here, so it ย feels good to eat knowing you are keeping with the seasons and eating healthy. Also, vermont is beautiful and leaves are changing colors very quickly. It snowed the other day! Scary. I love you guys very much and can’t wait to start planning our thanksgiving feast ๐Ÿ™‚

Love,

Sister 1

Good-bye, good-bye, and of course delicous noodles!

The LA County Fair: good eats and rides abound!

Sister 2 here. It’s been a while, but I’ve finally decided to take a little time off studying (!!!) to at last write about my food adventures at the LA County Fair a few weekends ago. I went with my friends Danielle, Emily, and Jessica, aka Bojangles, Emzie Poo, and Bowflex Machine, respectively. The first thing we did when we got there? You guessed it: FOOD. The ride over there was an hour long, and we were starving by the time we reached the food. Emzie Poo and Bojangles had shrimp and chips, Bowflex Machine got boba (!!!) and fried rice, and I had nachos grande. I couldn’t even finish mine, it was so much! Om nom nom. After that, we walked around, explored a photo booth, went to a two-part pig and duck race, visited the petting zoo, and treated ourselves to dessert. Bojangles and I braved one of the crazy rides while Emzie Poo watched from the safety of the ground, haha! For dessert, I had a frozen (not-Bluth)banana with nuts, Bojangles had a frozen (not-Bluth)banana with sprinkles, and Emzie Poo got blue and red shaved ice. Mmm. Overall, a fantastic day with fantastic food. Mmm.

my HUGE meal!
